Rebel e Publishers' reason to celebrate

June 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Rebel e Publishers, the online South African publishing company has reason to celebrate in 2010.  Not only are they representing authors from around the world and making a difference in the online publishing world, they have recently produced their first environmentally tree-friendly range of books.

With their books available through Amazon, Mobipocket and iTunes, this group of rebels decided to create a  writers’ publisher for writers. Rebel e Publishers focuses on selecting and publishing quality books of all genres. With a belief that ebooks – books available to read online – are the future of publishing they set out to find authors, of a similar mindset, who were looking for a suitable home for their literary work.

Cat Connor, the New Zealand-based author who is currently taking the literary world by storm with her second novel is one such author. Killerbyte, the story of a poetic psychopath who starts hunting and killing patrons in Special Agent Ellie Conway's chat room, spent several weeks at the No. 2 position on MobiPocket, with her second book, Terrorbyte, making several appearances in the top ten ranking.
Says Connor, “I consider myself very fortunate to have found Rebel E Publishers when I did, and to be the first author they signed. There is something very special about being a Kiwi author with a South African publisher.  I’m as proud of Rebel E as they are of me. It’s a win-win situation.”
With a commitment to providing a space where authors can market their work around the world without the usual high costs of publishing, Rebel e Publishers supports the reading community by providing high quality, reasonably priced ebooks. Their tree books support the environment with artwork done on recycled paper using non-toxic inks.

“I don’t see eBooks ever fully replacing tree books. People want portability and technology has provided it,” notes Connor. “Now we no longer have to choose which five books to lug with us on vacation, we can take a thousand with us on an eReader.  But people are tactile creatures and nothing is quite the same as holding a book. EBooks and tree books will be around together for a very long time; it’s as it should be.”
Whilst books face daily competition from television, movies and games, Rebel E Publishers has committed to keeping up with technology by offering great stories told by authors who are just as excited about technology but still love to snuggle up late into a winter’s night with a good book, no matter how it is read!
