Michael and his family chose to open his firm in the Lakeland area due to the community’s sense of service, strong military ties, and hometown values. The firm is guided by Mr. VanDerZee's experience in defending clients in state and federal courts, as well as court martials. Before Michael served in the Air Force Jag, he worked for five years as a Florida state prosecutor. As a lead felony prosecutor, he handled cases ranging from murder, aggravated assaut, gun crimes, DUI Manslaughter, and drug trafficking. With this experience, the VanDerZee Law Group is ready to take on any case.
