2010 Thought Leader, Elite Wellness President Speaks at World Obesity congress on the effectiveness of behavior modification for treating obesity.

June 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Washington DC,(June 16, 2010) - Elite Wellness President and chief executive officer Mishell Brookins is speaking about the lifestyle approach to the treatment of obesity at the 5Th annual World Congress Obesity Congress in September. The conference takes place in the nation’s capital of Washington DC. International health figures and dignitaries are among the attendees to one of the largest obesity conferences.

Mrs. Brookins says she is excited to kick off  'The Good Health is not a Luxury it’s a Lifestyle' Tour. Her speech is to be given at one of the congress workshops and will outline three aspects of the lifestyle changes that may assist in the treatment of obesity. 'Good Health Is Not a Luxury it’s a Lifestyle' campaign is about getting the world out not only on prevention, but the treatment of preventable diseases through wellness. Although her motto is prevention is better than cure she sees this as both preventive technique and a treatment approach.  

Mishell Brookins has been in the health, fitness and wellness field for almost a decade. She founded Elite Wellness in 2007. She wanted to bring her caring and unique style to assisting clients in meeting weight-loss goals.

The campaign title came from the companies tag line We're Not a Luxury We're a Lifestyle. "I thought the campaign title would be very fitting because we advocate wellness as a lifestyle." Mishell Brookins.  The campaign is set to make a national tour starting in September.

Here is a sneak peak: Tips on how to embody the Good Health Is Not a Luxury It's a Lifestyle mantra.

Set obtainable goals
•   Try not to create a goal that is too lofty. Instead break your overall goal into smaller obtainable goals that will allow you to reach your ultimate goal in steps.

Make small changes:
•   Creating a lifestyle that is sustainable is all about making small changes. If you want to change the way you eat. Don’t start by excluding all the foods you love overnight. This is not sustainable to change.  A start would be to resolve to eat healthier. It would also help to define what healthy means to you. Once you define what healthy is to you use it  as your goal and start off slowly.

Have a positive attitude towards it:
•   Last year we launched a campaign dubbed ‘Wellness the original Beauty Secret’ the purpose of this campaign was to get people thinking of wellness as a confidence booster. Putting a positive spin on your fitness routine may make all the difference in reaching your goals. Often individuals look at exercise as something to dread.  Also emerging research has shown how exercise can increase brain function because of the increase blood flow to the frontal lobe. So think of a work out as a way to get your brain flowing.
