June 14, 2010 - PRLog -- (SAN DIEGO, CA) – In an interview with Construction Digital, Project Manager of The Oracle discusses how innovation-safety-sustainability-and-community-were-used-during-0 Dayne May discusses how Australian construction giant Grocon has demonstrated innovation, safety, sustainability and community to construct the Gold Coast’s newest residential development.

“Grocon has the in-house capability to build their own structures, using their own teams and using their own Lubeca jumpform system,” May said in the article. The jumpform system created and owned by Grocon, is a self-climbing formwork system specifically designed to construct concrete walls and columns in high-rise buildings at the rate of one floor per week.

Grocon is also committed to raising the bar on safety initiatives, and credits its partnerships with helping them achieve this when constructing The Oracle . “Dupont provides a backbone to our safety business and support us on making cultural change within the industry. We’ve also partnered with a local company called Prosafe which offers us technical safety training to all our supervisors and foremen. We’ve seen some great advances on the site with improved safety,” May said.

To facilitate the way into its new home, Grocon felt it was important to include the local community in the construction of The Oracle. May said, “Particularly with size of project, we want to give something back to the community.” The company implemented a community employment program that provides disadvantaged youth with jobs.
