Glenn Dobson of the KONA Group attempting to raise $100,000 for Breast Cancer Research

June 13, 2010 - PRLog -- "In life as well as in business ordinary people can do extraordinary things. And the thing that we aim to do is raise $100,000 towards the seemingly impossible task of curing breast cancer." Said Glenn Dobson, Managing Director of the KONA Group.

"Together with 3 other ordinary Aussies, I am running 15 marathons in 15 days across the centre of Australia."

"So what would possess an average guy - in his 50s - to take on a seemingly impossible challenge; battling against at least 130 sand dunes a day, running across clay and salt pans, through spinifex and scrub? I'm doing it in memory of my mum, in honour of my wife and daughters, and to support all women who are facing breast cancer."

"We have been nick-named "The Impossibles" because most people think that we wont be able to do it but I believe it takes more strength and determination to face breast cancer than it does to take on one desert. The Impossibles will run a total distance of 650km, passing through 3 States (NT, SA, QLD) and over 1315 sand dunes in a West to East direction in just 15 days from the Geographical Centre (Lambert Centre) of Australia across the full breadth of the Simpson Desert to Birdsville in July," said Glenn.

"It wasn't that many years ago that the idea of curing cancer or adding decades onto the life expectancy of those diagnosed was thought to be impossible. But every year we make huge advances in treatment and survival rates. I want to do my bit to add to that with your help."
