June 10, 2010 - PRLog -- This is because they may be able to provide more efficient and low-risk solutions to government departments that are looking to slash their budgets, according to Contractor Calculator.

The advice website stated that with upheaval likely to be on the way across the public sector, contractors may be able to carve out a niche market for themselves.

It noted: "In particular, project and change managers are likely to be in great demand to help the public sector adapt to a new regime."

Contractor Calculator added that the spending review ordered by the coalition government will require budget plans to be created and then arguments to be made why funding should be protected.

The coalition government has already announced £6.2 billion worth of public spending cuts, with more widely expected to come later in the month when chancellor George Osborne holds his first Budget.
