Oxford University Talks Fashion – Matthew Williamson

June 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Talking to the undergraduates within the historic Goodman Library, they delivered a glimpse into the fashion industry from both a creative and a business perspective and discussed how to successfully launch and then maintain a brand.

Will Chamberlain, Librarian and Vice President of the Society, said that ‘the union is a society like no other, it provides a platform for students to hear from leaders in all fields, and we welcome the diversity of our speakers to engage a lively discussion’

The society attracts figures from all walks of life and has an unparalleled reputation for international guests and speakers including Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, and Malcolm X.

Matthew and Joseph’s visit to the Union follows that of fashion notables Anna Wintour, Hubert Givenchy and Roberto Cavalli.

Student Isabel Ernst, who proposed that Matthew and Joseph be invited to speak, commented ‘I thought that it would be interesting to hear how fashion really works behind the glamour – it was refreshing to receive such a frank portrayal of the industry’
