High Grade Free Occuring "Wire Gold" Dicovered In Mohave County Arizona

A very rare form of natural crystalline wires of gold has been discovered in a rich vein located in the Cerbat Mountain Range. To our knowledge there have been only 3 or 4 such locations revealing the actual source of wire gold discovered worldwide.

June 10, 2010 - PRLog -- ARS Mining of Kingman Az. recently announced a high grade wire gold discovery on its properties on Stockton Hill. The gold lode deposit is 7000 feet in length or longer. The discovery was a real surprise to the company because free occurring gold was not known to exist on this side of the Cerbat Mountains. Historically there was 200 claims worked in this area for 150 years with no reports of free gold, let alone wire gold!
In the past the ores from the area have been reported to be sulfide gold ores with no free gold present.. Three years ago when we purchased the properties the previous owner told us he found a 1 inch long wire at this location but we thought it was probably one of those tales old miners often tell. Unbelievably, over two years later we found a bunch of broken gold wires about 1/8th inch long on the deck of our pilot gravity table after ore from that location was crushed for a pilot production test. The original assay taken at the location indicated over 1 oz./ton gold and 2 ozs. of silver. Additionally, the assay revealed the presence of indium at 830ppm which is unheard of and not common to the area.
Samples were sent to the Michigan Technical University in Houghton Michigan where they isolated and photographed the wires and also confirmed the presence of indium in the ore using a scanning electron beam microscope.  Additionally, they analyzed a piece of gold wire using energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry (EDS). The wire tested was .083 inches in length. The EDS revealed the composition was 75% gold and 25% silver which is known as a rare alloy of gold known as electrum. This alloy was used by the Romans to mint coins hundreds of years ago and is suitable for making 18 k jewelery directly out of the ground.
ARS is continuing its exploration of this area and will be core drilling this deposit to determine the depth of this deposit in order to better define the metal reserves. Company geologists feel this could be one of the richest gold deposits discovered in Arizona in the last twenty years.
