June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- CORAL GABLES, Florida, June 8, 2010 — Blanco-Lorenz, the premiere media marketing company for today’s America, announced that Pedro Blanco, its founder and Chief Creative Officer, will present ‘”Welcome to América: A Gringo Media Marketer's 101 - Ten Years Later” at the upcoming 2010 PromaxBDA Conference in Los Angeles.

Blanco’s session will highlight the enormous opportunities available to entertainment marketers
that serve the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population. A full decade after Ricky Martin, JLO, and Shakira exploded onto the national scene, many mainstream media marketers are still lagging way behind others in connecting with Hispanics.  Meanwhile, Spanish-language broadcasters have surpassed their English-language competitors, regularly delivering the largest Adult 18-34 national audiences of the night.

From language to culture, Blanco will present best practices from across the marketing spectrum - offering a peek into how media companies might want to emulate their consumer product, theatrical and music marketing brethren. The session will also present recommendations on how to get the conversation started as global brands prepare for their strategies in anticipation of the 2010 U.S. Census results.

Pedro Blanco, Chief Creative Officer, Blanco-Lorenz said: “Ten years ago American media re- discovered a whole new business in their backyard. Today, some brands have succeeded and are enjoying the spoils of their success. Meanwhile, others are still utterly confused with issues of language, lifestyle, culture and point-of-view. This session is an opportunity to take stock of how far we’ve come, and most importantly, how to prepare for what’s on the way.”  Blanco closes the session with a rapid-fire bonus round of powerful insights disguised as quick tips: A new installment of his trademark “Gringo’s Guide to the Latin Thing” features the top 10 do’s and don’ts in Latino media marketing.

Don’t be a buzz kill.  | Do speak English. | Don’t use a Latino font. (There is no such thing!)
Don’t talk to Abuela. | Do remember that we are American.

This year’s PromaxBDA conference, titled “Right Here. Right Now. Radical Thinking. Innovative Solutions for the Future of Media” will bring leaders and innovators from all across the entertainment globe to Los Angeles to discuss the state of television, film and digital media marketing and design.

Other notable speakers at this year’s conference include: Hugh Hefner, Founder, Editor-in-Chief and CCO, Playboy and recipient of the PromaxBDA Lifetime Achievement award; Michael Benson, EVP Marketing, ABC Entertainment Group and PromaxBDA Chairman; Jeffrey Godsick, EVP, Domestic Theatrical Marketing and Digital Content, Twentieth Century Fox; Lisa Gregorian, EVP and CMO Warner Bros.
