PRLog -- Lévis, QC (June 7, 2010)- ArtSPAM Studio in Lévis opens its doors and presents "The Trinity of Art Muses: Paintings from Californianeverland made in Levis" by David Hinnebusch on Saturday, July 10th, 2010 from 12pm to 9pm. For the first time in Canada, California artist David Hinnebusch presents his artwork in his studio at 40 Cote Du Passage in Levis, Quebec for the entire day. A reception for the art work will start at 5PM. The 45-year old Los Angeles painter has produced his first body of work in an expressionistic manner.
These painting-drawings mix the colors of California
with the colors of Quebec. The larger pieces of David Hinnebusch will be presented in part and in collaboration with a quiet performance which visits the process of his working in the space. “I am not affiliated with a gallery in Quebec yet..
so I want to open my studio to the public with both my art and some thoughts I have about creating-- and hopefully be accepted into this fantastic region of artists and art lovers."
The strength and power of this emerging Los Angeles painter rests in the personal contract he feels he has kept with the very gods of creativity, though the name of the show "The Trinity of Art Muses: Paintings from Californianeverland made in Levis" is both an exploration of the spiritual and emotional influences of art making and the reference to the intellectual roots of the art business with- in which an artist must live to make a living. Energetic, fully dripped and marked, these paintings are profuse with the confidence of decades of experienced creating.

A linguistics scholar, Hinnebusch’s father moved with his wife and David from Pittsburgh
to Tanzania, then to Los Angeles, then Kenya, and finally accepted a professorship at UCLA. Hinnebusch recalls growing up in Africa with fondness. “I was the only American kid, I got along with the African children, the European children picked on me. It was always ‘Yank’ this, and ‘Yank’ that.” However, travelling back and forth between the United States and
Africa during the political tumult of the early ’70s did serve to develop David’s worldly and inquisitive nature at a very green age. He remembers a question he asked his father, as a soldier surrounded Uganda

Airport. “I was 10, and while we were waiting to get on a plane, I went to my father and asked ‘Dad, who’s crazier, Idi Amin or Richard Nixon?’ I think he said ”Shush!'.”
David started his creative career writing children's' adventure books at age 8 in Africa, singing in the Los Angeles punk rock band Entropy, and then began using the camera to paint for a living in 1990.
