June 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Have you ever wondered why you can have two friends, one that is a great friend and one that is your best friend. Now, think about that, what experience have set them apart that makes one of them stick out just a little bit more than the other. Say that you have known them around the same amount of time. And  they both are willing to accompany you everywhere even when shopping for something as small as a duvet cover, both will not hesitate not only to help you pick one out but to put the queen duvet cover on your bed once you get the thing home. So then what does create those lasting bonds that will go on to last for a lifetime, and what makes others that are seemingly just as meaningful so easily forgettable?

The difference is in their moods. In our childhood it does not matter if you where the coolest kid on the block or the biggest nerd, we all wanted to be someone else and in our strive to be someone different some of us would end up picking up friends that where not the nicest people in the world. But, popularity and peer pressures are two great motivators that can easily sway you as a kid. I was defiantly one of those easily swayed people. I would be rude to teachers and students alike. Naturally I was a very popular kid, though I thought. Although I lived much of my teen years adored by fellow students I also found myself the most hated. Because of my constant teasing and harassing I often would catch students turning down corridors to avoid me. At first it seemed like I was being reconfigured as an authority to be respected but as time went on and our teen years have passed I have come to realize that it is much better to win someone’s affection with smiles than with tears.

In most friendships or lasting relationships you come to realize that there are two type of people, people who make you smile and people who make you cry. Maybe you do not actually cry but, by this I mean that when you are around those people who make you cry no matter how excited you are about something they always seem to bring you right back down, most people refer to these people as “the hater”. And the hater loves to see you feel love, now on the other hand you have that one rare person that always makes things seem even better than they are. If you are feeling low they make you smile and if you are having a good time they make the time even better. These are the bonds that go on to stand the test of time and that is why if you want a lasting relationship it is best to build it on happiness because those are the ones that will last.
