Gotham PR and German Premieres Debut "Vincent Wants To Sea" in New York City

Special 25th Premiere Series: June 14, 2010 By-Invitation Screening Event at Tribeca Cinemas, 54 Varick Street, 6PM, Reception to Follow
June 5, 2010 - PRLog -- In the vibrant new dramedy, ‘Vincent Wants to See,’ the lead character Vincent (Florian David Fitz, who also wrote the screenplay) experiences his mother’s death, and vows to fulfill her very last wish to see the sea one last time. The problem is how to get her ashes there, since Vincent suffers from Tourette’s syndrome and has recently been packed off to a clinic by his father. Thanks to a charmingly eclectic cast of characters residing at the clinic, the anorexic Marie (Karoline Herfurth), Vincent and his obsessive-compulsive roommate Alex (Johannes Allmayer), make off with a battered car and travel together to Italy. Right behind them in full pursuit are Vincent's pompous father (Heino Ferch) and therapist Dr. Rose (Katharina Müller-Elmau), a constantly bickering couple that could easily pass for neurotics themselves. As Vincent, Marie and Alex head for the sea, they poignantly drive each other crazy with their respective ailments, while also discovering freedom, friendship and love.

Box office to date in Germany for ‘Vincent Wants to Sea’ is more than 500,000 audience share -- earning over 3 million Euros. This film is poised to be the German indie darling of the season. Upon the eve of the 25th German Premiere, wider distribution and sales of Agnes, Napola, Sophie Scholl, Kebab Connection, Go For Zucker – and most recently, Habermann this spring -- are all being celebrated.

According to Oliver Mahrdt, President of German Premieres and CEO of Hanns Wolters International, “It is quite surprising that in the fast-paced city of New York that we were able to create a long lasting series of German films, with a steady success rate of sold movies.”

Special appearances by Director Ralf Huettner and Beta Cinema World Sales Director Dirk Schurhoff at the event.
