Box office to date in Germany for ‘Vincent Wants to Sea’ is more than 500,000 audience share -- earning over 3 million Euros. This film is poised to be the German indie darling of the season. Upon the eve of the 25th German Premiere, wider distribution and sales of Agnes, Napola, Sophie Scholl, Kebab Connection, Go For Zucker – and most recently, Habermann this spring -- are all being celebrated. According to Oliver Mahrdt, President of German Premieres and CEO of Hanns Wolters International, “It is quite surprising that in the fast-paced city of New York that we were able to create a long lasting series of German films, with a steady success rate of sold movies.” Special appearances by Director Ralf Huettner and Beta Cinema World Sales Director Dirk Schurhoff at the event. Director Biography Ralf Huettner was born in 1954 and graduated from the University of Television & Film in Munich in 1985 with the film Marilyn. His feature debut Das Maedchen mit den Feuerzeugen (1987) was a major success, winning prizes at home and abroad.
