June 5, 2010 - PRLog -- When Arik Kislin began working with a real estate management and development group that oversaw 3.6 million square feet of prime real estate in New York City, Arik Kislin took one of the first steps towards a project that would reinvigorate the Meatpacking District.  This complex transformed an area of the city that was largely unused by commercial realtors into a highly successful hub of retail activity, cultural events, nightlife, and fashion design.

This was Arik Kislin’s first step towards reinvigorating New York City’s Meatpacking District, but it was not the last. Kislin helped improve the area more than a decade later when he partnered with the Achenbaum family to create the Gansevoort Hotel. If the Chelsea Market Complex had been a stepping stone towards stabilizing the district, the Gansevoort Hotel was a cornerstone on which a larger local economy could be built. The success of the hotel attracted countless new dining spots, galleries, fashion designers who rarely deigned to leave Europe, and hipsters looking for a fun nightspot.

The success of this neighborhood owes a lot to the innovation of Arik Kislin. His devotion to finding possibility in areas where other people have given up is shown throughout his career. Shortly after creating the Chelsea Market Complex, Kislin left to join an investment group that focused on distressed debts. Over the next three years, Kislin helped the company create a portfolio worth almost $2 billion dollars.

Showing a similar flair for innovation, Arik Kislin’s next venture had him teaming up with a small charter plane management company called Air Rutter International. The company had been in business for a few years and showed exceptional potential to someone like Kislin. He invested in Air Rutter International and began working with the company to improve its facilities and services. Soon, they had the capital and connections to build a headquarters at Long Beach International Airport, a facility that provided fueling and maintenance services, and a hangar that housed the company’s fleet of aircraft and the planes of important clients.

Arik Kislin continues to work with Air Rutter International and the Gansevoort Hotel Group while putting his business sense to good use as principal for a diversified investment company called Linx Industries. For someone with so many diverse interests, this must have seemed like a natural step forward. Naturally, the company invests in finance and aviation companies among others.
