By: Haitham Eid While G8 participants will deal with macro economic issues such as international trade, the global economy and terrorism, many of the smaller issues are not covered. Postcards to the G8 is a chance for artists to raise the issues of daily problems from their corner of the world. Eid's participation has included artworks related to human rights, environment and peace. Postcards to the G8 is a call to artists worldwide to inform the world’s most powerful leaders, through their artwork, of life’s daily struggles that need attention. Postcards to the G8 will form a lasting body of personal and political communiqués to world leaders as the G8 briefly dominates the mainstream media. Muskoka is a region with a rich and dynamic arts heritage. In 2008, the Muskoka region was designated an 'Arts Community', an acknowledgment of the incredible diversity of talent that calls the district home. Muskoka Arts & Crafts is one of Ontario's oldest, most established arts organizations. A non-profit organization, Muskoka Arts & Crafts is completely self-supporting and is receiving no funding towards the financing of this show.
