June 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The difference between a sewing machine and the microwave is that you don't press any buttons to make it work. You have to be there the whole time and with patience, you will be able to make something you like.

Romina Abrigo Editor of the "Sewing Machine Reviews" website -- http://www.SewingMachineReviews.me -- pointed out;

“…When you are using the sewing machine for the first time, it pays to read the user manual. This will teach all you need to know about using it so there won't be any problems later on. If you have questions, go online to see if there is information available or call their customer service hotline…” Added Romina Abrigo

You should then practice threading the machine for a few seconds.  Afterwards, try sewing on a straight line. You should use scraps of fabric or even paper to get the hang of things.

Another thing you should also practice on is ripping seams. If you are able to do this right without ripping apart the fabric, you won't have any problems making a shirt, pair of pants or even a blanket.

You should also practice finishing seams then pressing them open. Doing so does a lot in terms of how the finished product fits and looks.

No one can become good at sewing in just one day. It takes time so don't stress yourself and start out with easy projects. Once you gain your confidence, try something more challenging. If you want to learn more about using a sewing machine, go to websites that offer free projects and tutorials.

If you haven't bought a sewing machine yet, borrow a friends or buy a second hand machine. You should only buy one from a reputable dealer. If you like sewing, this is the only time you should consider getting a top of the line model.

Go to different stores, check out the prices and test it. As much as possible, this should be something you are comfortable with because there is no point in investing in a machine that you aren't happy with.

“…You can also sign up for a sewing class that is offered at most community centers and stores. Learning the right way to do it from a professional means fewer mistakes than on your own…” Added Romina Abrigo
