Crons Launches NCAA Compliant Protein Bar Products For Its National Network Of Affiliated Schools
Pittsburgh, Pa. based motivational brand adds new product area in response to growing college and high school partner demand
“We are very excited to be able to add these bars to our product line in response to the demand from our network of over 500 current schools,” said Crons Founder and CEO Pat Cavanaugh. “It was important for us to develop high protein, high fiber nutritional bars that positively impacted player performance and could be used pre and post workout, but did so in a safe and healthy way. That’s why it was essential that our bars were compliant with the strict safety standards that the NCAA has for its athletes.”
The great tasting 75g bars feature an optimal nutritional profile loaded with 24 grams of whey protein along with high fiber content. There are no sugar alcohols. Crons conducted significant taste testing with college and high school athletes to determine the bars’ first flavors. Based on those results the first two deliciously tasting flavors launching the product are Cookies & Cream and Cake Batter.
Among the top 28 selling protein bars on the market today, the Come Ready Bar ranks among the Top 10 in:
• Highest fiber content
• Lowest cost per protein gram
• Lowest cost per box
• Lowest cost per bar
The Come Ready Bars are nutritionally formulated for pre-workout muscle development and to boost energy levels for practices and games. The bar’s significant protein content also helps in post-workout, practice and game recoveries.
As part of the product launch, Crons has produced the World’s Largest Protein Bar—a six-foot mountain of protein, fiber and carbohydrates. This super-sized bar weighs 100 pounds, is six feet long and 1 ½ feet wide. It took 10 hours to mix and bake.
The bar also contains some super-sized nutritional content:
• 21,700 grams of protein
• 2,000 grams of fiber
• 21,700 grams of carbohydrates
• 5,000 grams of fat
• 193,000 calories
Crons is donating the bar to Pittsburgh’s Light of Life Mission, an organization that provides support and services for the homeless. The bar will be cut up to serve to the mission’s homeless clientele, feeding as many as 630 people.
