June 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Ecoconut Tours Inc. reaffirms its mission by concrete actions in sustainable and social tourism on Olango Island in the context of the fourth worldwide day for responsible tourism. There are 3 major goals:
-   To sensitize our visitors to the environment and to the local culture;
-   To create an awareness in the local community of their living environment and the stakes involved in its preservation;
-   To allow our visitors to have an unforgettable experiment through the discovery of a tropical island preserved by the “Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary” and the Protected Marine zones, and to establish an authentic exchange with the local community.

Beyond the discovery of a preserved tropical island, the tours give our visitors a unique opportunity to have a direct contact with the local culture thanks to the permanent contact which we have established with the local community: Tasting of regional foods (gastronomy); Visiting the “Coconut village” and the cottage of tropical shells shop (handicraft); Possibility of staying one night with a local family in a traditional house made of bamboo (traditional architecture).
