Follow on Google News | International Green Technology Institute partners meet Haitian Delegation at White HouseCaptain Don Kubley, President of Intershelter, met with Haitian leaders to celebrate the Haitian Independence at the White House and to discuss the recovery and construction of the earthquake devastated country.
By: Robert Srinivas According to Don Kubley, “The Haitian leaders were impressed with the domes as immediate hurricane proof shelters for the homeless currently living in tent villages. Unless, something is done now, they believe that when the hurricane season comes, their country will be facing a major civil unrest.” The International Green Technology Institute of the Tom Bradley Legacy Foundation proposed to deploy 50 E Dome Villages distributed throughout the country in the next 18 months to house 100,000 people. According to Erik Peterson, Principle of the Claremont Environmental Design Group, “This “Village in a Box” can be erected in a month, once the site was selected and the proper grading was completed.” The design group has won awards for their regenerative planning and design work. Project Green Haiti training leader, Rob Srinivus, President of Eco-Hut Academy stated, “Our goal is to develop an eco-entrepreneurial society, therefore, we will train the people to construct the E Villages as well as install the solar energy systems. Our goal is to empower a green generation of Haitians to rebuild their villages where one can live, work, play, learn, shop, and care the environment and each other.” Les Hamasaki, CEO & President of IGTI and a former Planning Commissioner with the City of Los Angeles said, “Haitians must understand and take full advantage of the Green Internet Revolution that will bridge the “digital divide” between the rich and poor countries. You don’t have to be in downtown Los Angeles to conduct international trade; you can be in an E Village in Haiti and conduct e-commerce, distance learning, telemedicine, and telebanking for micro loans.” Project Green Haiti is currently being reviewed by Leslie Voltaire, UN Ambassador for the Recovery and Reconstruction of Haiti. # # # IGTI mission is to lead the Green Internet Revolution to "bridge the digital divide" between the rich and poor by educating, training and empowering a new generation of global green entrepreneurs to be the economic engine and create a sustainable future.
