May 27, 2010 - PRLog -- LiteCure is the developer and manufacturer of the LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser as well as a line of companion animal and equine therapy lasers. The company is based in Newark, DE, and has recently hired Jason Smith, Ph.D., as the new Product Manager to lead the company’s strategy and business development, product development, brand and market development, and organization development. Smith’s previous professional experience as Product Manager at Gore and Associates as well as the education he pursued at Duke University to earn his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering make him well qualified for the extensive Product Manager role at LiteCure.

LiteCure manufactures its lasers in the U.S. and is the leading Class IV laser modality for pain management. As a science-based company, LiteCure maintains its position in the market through thorough research as well as through its refined product development and product line extensions. Smith will help to identify trends in clinical practice, technology, regulatory pathways, and customer behavior that can contribute to LiteCure’s ongoing growth. He will also be influential in representing the customer during LiteCure product developments and lead the product team in establishing new products and their place in the market.

Smith’s role in the brand and market development of LiteCure products will allow the company to strengthen its resources for the sales force as well as consumer brand awareness of LiteCure therapy lasers. Laser and light technology has been available for over 30 years and the Class IV deep tissue therapy that the LCT-1000 provides is a therapeutic modality that allows for shorter treatment times and increased clinical outcomes. This science-based aspect of the technology is one that Smith plans to focus on in his brand development plan through consumer and industry education opportunities.

In response to joining LiteCure, Smith comments, “I welcome the opportunity to bring this exciting new mode of treatment into the mainstream and improve patients’ quality of life.” Dr. Brian Pryor, CEO of LiteCure states, “Jason’s education in materials science and biomedical engineering allows him to have a high level of understanding of the science behind LiteCure technology and his product manager experience will help us expand the delivery of our lasers to the market.”

LiteCure is committed to educating and training medical professionals to use the LCT-1000 as part of comprehensive treatment plan or as a standalone solution for treating pain and inflammation. LiteCure experts provide in-office demonstrations of the product, clinical support, and the industry’s only therapy laser specific published materials.
