The story is set in the ancient world, with swords, and bows and arrows the weapons of choice. Travel is by horseback or sailing ships. But those with magic can overcome these obstacles.

The kindly gods Durath and Andra send Adious the gatekeeper and Gerol, chief of the guards, to retrieve the stolen keys. The two set off on a harrowing adventure to restore the keys to the Holy Place of the Dead and to save the wandering souls from Alback’s control.

Along the way, Adious and Gerol meet the beautiful and powerful Lastra, who was created by Alback to rule at his side. But the gods guarding the gates cast an enchantment spell to protect her from evil and made her the World Protector. Thus begins the story of The Gate, Book 1 of the World Keepers.
