KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UMKC Bloch School Executive Education Center, in partnership with KPMG presents the next panel discussion as part of the Business Impact Series. The event entitled "Effects of the Healthcare Reform Act" will be hosted at Cerner Corporation on Tuesday, June 8. The panelists of experts representing insurance, community health, small business, and corporate will discuss the implications of healthcare reform act and answer questions from the audience.

    Marc Scher is an Audit Partner at KPMG in Orange County leading the Southern California Healthcare practice. He has more than 25 years experience focusing on numerous large health systems, long-term care providers, hospitals, biotech organizations, payors, healthcare purchasing cooperatives, medical research, and other healthcare service providers.
    Dr. Arif Ahmed is the Assistant Professor of Health Administration at Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration. His primary research interest is in the area of access to care, particularly the impact of non-monetary costs of care on health service utilization. He received his Ph.D. and MSPH degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BDS degree from the University of Dhaka.
    Laurie Gehrt is the Chief Nursing Officer at Cerner and a member of the Cerner Nursing Executive Council, which provides leadership to the more than 350 Cerner nurses. Prior to this role, she was employed by the Corporate Information Systems of OSF Health Care System. Laurie received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Nursing and an M.B.A.from the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration.
    Steve Roling was appointed President and CEO of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City in December 2004. Prior to that he was the appointed Director of the Missouri Department of Social Services. In that role he was responsible for a $6.2 billion budget with over 8,500 staff and 300 local offices located through the state.
     Matthew All is the Vice President of Legal Services and General Counsel at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas. He brings more than a decade of experience in private practice and state government to his position, including four years as assistant insurance commissioner and four years as chief counsel to the governor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Yale Law School.
