Why Being A Used Car Salesman May Be The Most Dangerous Career In The World

If you're a used car salesman in this day and age, it’s not a life of riley as some people believe.

May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- It's actually more “cut throat” and while may not result in physical violence on the forecourt, it's actually a quite risky business, as more car dealers making the effort to secure a sale with the car by offering free servicing, as well as supplying added extras for the shopper in way of having them to sign on the dotted line.

Despite the fact that buying your next vehicle maybe some thing you want to do, a choice of used cars accessible have multiplied ten-fold, as it appears as if purchasing a “new car” isn’t generally the best choice simply because you loose all the Tax and the value of the car drop’s simply because you have owned the car, even if you haven’t yet driven it yet.  Additionally, used cars don’t need to be old, or a rust bucket.  You can actually invest in used cars that are only about a 12 months old, that has minimal mileage on the clock, plus still looks as good now as when it had been in the showroom with the lights beaming down on it.

Life Or Death At The Forecourt

Like lots of people which are looking for a vehicle, their is usually an old one that you'd like to part ex, but without being ripped off, hence it’s up to a salesperson to offer you the right cost for your “old banger”.

But it doesn’t end their, it seems that after folks come along to the forecourt to get a concept of what vehicle to buy, they seem to see that they can typically afford a much better car than they 1st thought, and also although that could seem great, that’s when the bargaining animal happens in them.   These people are overcome with the animal behavioral instinct in “kill or be killed” attitude, they may have come in for a Ford Focus, and might end up leaving with an Audi A4 for essentially the same price, although that is once they require the modern vehicle mats, a sat-nav, and generally anything else they are able to imagine, all without having to pay any extra.

It is like the challenge of wills, with your sales rep attempting to make a minimum of some money on it, even though the shopper is often looking for the top specifications car for that standard spec cost, plus often it’s a case in sticking with your guidelines and never budging on the cost, whilst they are doing the same.

At this point I am not necessarily praoclaiming that everybody that comes to a vehicle dealership is much like this, a few are generally pretty pleasant people if I’m honest, but there are some that take the used cars costs to the next level and think they can buy a top of the range 57 plate Audi A4 for less than 3 grand.   All I can tell those few, is Good Luck!
