May 20, 2010 - PRLog -- KANSAS CITY--Once again, there’s a bit of Kansas City on American Idol. Anthology Gear Wear, a Kansas City-based company known for its high-quality guitar straps, is getting a taste of Idol fame.

Brian Griffith, founder of Anthology and creator of their signature gear, had a conversation recently with Chad Jeffers, singer Carrie Underwood’s guitar player.  The conversation naturally turned to guitar straps.

“We were talking and he told me that he and Underwood were appearing next week on Idol and asked me to send him a strap,” says Griffith. “I love the exposure and know that it’s a great opportunity to get Anthology’s straps out there, so I am psyched. And while I’m not personally a die-hard Idol follower, my wife and kids are; so it will be exciting to watch the show and see a product that they all are so connected to by virtue of my business.”

Anthology was founded last year when Griffith, a musician and designer, recognized a void in the marketplace and decided to fill it. After a few months of research and development, his high-quality guitar strap designs were rolled out. They quickly attracted the attention of celebrities and well-known guitarists including jazz/fusion guitarist Dean Brown and musician Greg Howe.

Demand has been so high that Griffith is now focused on adding accessories to his lineup of gear, including cymbal bags, drumstick cases and gig bags.

But next Wednesday night, he'll take a break from his work to enjoy a few moments of satisfaction as his signature strap debuts on the national stage.

“It’s no doubt a big deal,” says Griffith. “Seeing our straps on a stage is great, and seeing them worn on national TV is even better. Can’t ask for a better start to my week than that.”
