Follow on Google News | Dr. Claudio Cerullo lends insight on how to deal with bullyingBullying is a big problem. It can make kids feel hurt, scared, sick, lonely, embarrassed and sad.
By: Barbara Klein Bullies often pick on someone they think they can have power over. They might pick on kids who get upset easily or who have trouble sticking up for themselves. Getting a big reaction out of someone can make bullies feel like they have the power they want. Sometimes bullies pick on someone who is smarter than they are or different from them in some way. Sometimes bullies just pick on a kid for no reason at all. Here are some things to do to minimize a bully's control: * Ignore them * Pretend you didn't hear them * Don't even look at them * Don't Cry * Don't get angry * Don't show them you are upset * Talk about it to someone else * Write it down so you don't forget to tell someone * Respond to the Bully evenly and firmly * Turn the comment into a joke * Turn and walk away * Remove yourself from the situation * Go somewhere that a adult is present * Remember you are not the one with the problem. * Talk to an ADULT! # # # About Dr. Claudio Cerullo Dr. Claudio V.
