May 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Philip Hampton, chief technology officer at Powermode, says demand for the supply, commissioning and servicing of emergency power solutions is expected to grow aggressively and be on-going for at least the next 10 years.

“Power utilities are under increasing pressure to meet current capacity demands,” he says. “It is generally agreed that power provision will come under severe pressure from late 2010 and early 2011 as delayed planned maintenance of the national grid is implemented.

“Against a background of continuing power unreliability in the South African and sub-Saharan regions, an immediate opportunity exists to establish Powermode as a provider of power solutions and services on a nationwide scale.”

According to Hampton, Powermode’s strategy covers three areas of emergency power provision:

•A county-wide service level agreement (SLA) covering maintenance and repair services of both uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems and generator sets via a 24x7, incident managed, nationwide service infrastructure.

•The importation and distribution of single and 3-phase UPS systems, subsystems and components to the trade and retail outlets.

•Turnkey consultation, sales and commissioning of 3-phase UPS and generator solutions to enterprise users.

“These strategies complement one another and feed into the growing need for reliable emergency power solutions and services,” adds Hampton.
