May 18, 2010 - PRLog -- The Old Red Barn transports readers to an enchanting place in time.  Days are unhurried, and pleasures are as simple as jumping out of a barn loft into the hay below.  This children’s book is based on the author's true experiences as a little girl spending summers on her grandparents’ farm.  There were lots of cousins to play with, and so many fun things to do.  The Old Red Barn delights readers of all ages.  Its charming illustrations and rhyming verse invite children to imagine the wholesome fun of farm life.  Older folks will smile as they reminisce about days long ago.

Paula Drayton Durrant wrote her first poem when she was just seven years old.  In high school, she was the editor of her school’s newspaper.  During her freshman year of college, with her poetry she won the talent portion of the Belle of the ‘Y’ Beauty Pageant at Brigham Young University (“BYU”) in Provo, Utah.

While studying English and French at BYU, Paula married David Durrant and gave birth to their first child.  Paula and David haven been married for 50 years, and have lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past 35 years.  They are the proud parents of seven children, and seven grandchildren.
