Bold New Indie Feature Brings Social Issue Awareness To Little Known “Fantasy" World In Hollywood

“A remarkable film...unlike any movie I’ve seen since David Lynch's Blue Velvet.” Elliott Kanbar, Quad Cinema. "ONE HOUR FANTASY GIRL" debuts on the big screen 5/21, Regent Showcase, an Official Selection of the 2010 Awareness Festival.

May 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA Latino filmmaker Edgar Michael Bravo’s critically acclaimed indie feature ONE HOUR FANTASY GIRL opens this Friday, May 21st on the big screen at the Regent Showcase in Hollywood.

An Official Selection of this year’s Awareness Film Festival, this relatively unknown, yet critically acclaimed feature film has been steadily gaining momentum with the support of a growing social media/grass-roots audience.  The story’s message of “never give up” has proven to resonate across a wide spectrum of people who normally wouldn’t be counted on to care about a film that delves into a young woman’s emotional journey in the world of non-sex call girls.

Based on a true story, ONE HOUR FANTASY GIRL is a poignant story of a young woman from the mid-west trying to make a better life for herself in Hollywood, pursing the American Dream without compromising her beliefs or goals.  Boldly honest and thought provoking, the film introduces audiences to the world of a twenty-year-old fantasy girl: Becky Lewis (Kelly-Ann Tursi), who escaped an abusive alcoholic mother at the age of 15 and has been surviving on her own in Los Angeles ever since.

The Coalition for the Homeless has endorsed Mr. Bravo's ONE HOUR FANTASY GIRL along with his current project THE MAGIC STONE which completed principle photography in January 2010.

Mr. Bravo continues making social issue films as he and his producing partner John Paul Rice (formerly with Mandate Pictures, JUNO, THE GRUDGE, HAROLD AND KUMAR) have begun pre-production on their third feature film MOTHER’S RED DRESS which shoots end of Summer in Los Angeles.
