Special 25th Anniversary Ebook Edition

Before Pandora there was "Saardu". Author releases never before published original version to prove she did not steal from James Cameron, creator of "Avatar".

May 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Never before published "The Ills of Saardu", a science fantasy novel manuscript registered on May 17, 1985 at the Library of Congress, has been released today on its 25th anniversary as an ebook exclusively published at Smashwords, http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/14614.

Written by Carma Dillon (aka Gagné) and co-created by Patty Sovic, science fantasy lovers will find Saardu a vivid planet abundant with wonders.  The author published this unedited replica of the original manuscript as proof positive that she copied nothing from James Cameron's popular planet or the "Avatar" plot.  Cameron reportedly started working on "Avatar" 17 years ago; "The Ills of Saardu was written in 1984 and registered in 1985.  There are minor similarities, which concerned the illustrator of the 2009 novel, which is a revision based on the original, this one titled "Saardu: The Adventure Begins", aimed at a younger audience.  Fans of "Avatar" suggested Dillon's blue people, three moons, waterfall, temple and forest setting were copying Cameron's work.  She published this exact replica of the registered text to prove she'd originally created Saardu as it is now 25 years ago - 8 years before Cameron started his work.  She does not suspect anyone of borrowing from her ideas since her manuscript was never published.

Readers will find Dillon's work less violent and full of fun and philosophy.  She has authorized a 1-day special introductory offer of free downloads of both ebooks on May 17 only, through midnight U.S. Pacific time.
