Andaz Uncorks 5 Wines For 5 Dollars at Ivy Wine Bar

May 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Take a journey around the world of wine with the new Five-for-Five tasting special at the Ivy Wine Bar. Guests can experience five select wines for $5 while relaxing at the sophisticated wine bar at Andaz San Diego every day from 5 to 8 p.m.

“We created the Five-for-Five special to give visitors the opportunity to sample a selection of wines from around the world,” said Lindsay Pomeroy, director of wine at the Andaz San Diego. “The new promotion offers a flight of unique wines that will be changed monthly so that our guests can try new and exciting wine varietals from regions that they may not have tried before.”

This month, the Five-for-Five deal includes 1.5 ounce pours of Kistler, Vine Hill Vineyard, Russian River Valley 2006; Gutzler, Rolling Hills Riesling, Germany 2008; Merlot, Bighorn Cellars, Broken Rock Vineyard, Napa Valley 2004; Bianchi Famiglia Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina 2007; and Tres Picos Garnacha, Borsao 2008.

To enhance the tasting experience, guests can enjoy the wine bar’s pairing menu featuring Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza, Charcuterie Plate, Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates, Assorted Olives, Cheese Plate and Duck Rillets. Wine-friendly desserts include Strawberry Shortcake, Gingerbread Cake with Poached Pears and Belgian Chocolate Torte.

For guests looking to enjoy an alternative to wine, Andaz also offers $5 Grey Goose, Bacardi, Cazadores, Corzo and Dewar’s cocktails during Happier Hour from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Ivy Wine Bar, Ivy Rooftop and Quarter Kitchen.
