May 12, 2010 - PRLog -- On May 20, Ad2 Denver hosts a historic Denver pub crawl featuring some of LoDo’s most notorious bars.   Participants gather at the Oxford Hotel’s Cruise Room, 1600 Seventeenth Street at 6 p.m., where they are greeted by historian (and city auditor) Dennis Gallagher.  Gallagher leads the group through the streets pointing out the interesting landmarks, telling the stories that go with them, and stopping along the way to refresh at the watering holes of days gone by.   In addition to the Cruise Room, an art deco martini bar fashioned after a lounge on the Queen Mary, the tour includes:
•   Wynkoop Brewery, 1634 18th St., where miners and ranchers would belly up to the bar in 1888
•   Wazee Supper Club at 1600 15th St. owned by the brothers who own My Brother’s Bar, a legendary hangout of Jack Kerouac
•   Ending with a visit to Celtic Tavern on 18th and Blake.

The Ad2 Denver pub crawl is free to members and nonmembers alike. Beverages are not included.  To register, visit http://www.ad2denver.com or e-mail Programs@Ad2Denver for more information.

Dennis Gallagher is renowned for his in-depth knowledge of the history of Denver and frequently donates his time to educate and keep legends alive.
