Fabric Architecture to Implement Workspace mini

Solution will improve internal communications and operational efficiency

May 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Based in Gloucestershire, Fabric Architecture design manufacture and install tensile fabric structures.  The company  provides bespoke design services and offer a range of off the shelf designs for  the education, healthcare and transport sectors.

Workspace mini will consolidate information access under one central system, with the goal of increasing project efficiency and general awareness of project activities. Additional modules have also been purchased to enable the   management of event milestones and document control.

Fabric currently use ACT for CRM, network drives for storing documents and emails and track projects using Microsoft Project.   The company started to experience frustrations with the limitations of their existing systems.  Managing Director Debra Drew Comments, “ACT doesn’t manage emails or documents effectively and had no functionality for managing information once a project was won.  We also suffered from storing client communications on personal PCs; finding information and gaining a view of the current status of a project was a laborious task.  We were aware that a more holistic approach to managing information would benefit the company but weren’t aware of an appropriate solution at that time.”

It wasn’t until Fabric was contacted by Union Square that they realised Workspace could address all of their problems and eliminate their dependence on unconnected and disparate systems.  “Workspace is designed specifically for companies in the construction industry so the interface and procedures matched the way we organise the business.  We were impressed with the references that Union Square could provide from companies of a similar size in our sector,” comments Debra.

Workspace will increase efficiency at Fabric by introducing simple automated procedures for tasks such as project creation and tracking project milestones.  Workspace will replace Microsoft Projects and introduce a simple way to track the progress of a project.  Directors will be able to quickly and easily assess the status of all projects across the business without having to ask others for information.

Fabric will be implementing Workspace mini, a pre-configured out of the box version of Workspace.  Debra was impressed with the functionality in the system: “Workspace mini is ideal for a small business like ours.  Union Square have thought of our wish list and made it available in an easy to implement, affordable system.  Workspace mini will ensure minimal disruption to the company and will be fully implemented in three months.”
