Anglo-German JV brings world-class expertise to armoured & covert vehicle market

May 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Wednesday 12th May 2010:  Britain’s Cre8 Associates Limited and Project Support Vehicles (PSV) Germany have today announced a joint venture to supply armoured and non-armoured covert vehicles in the UK.  The venture brings together expertise within PSV that covers design, engineering and manufacture of specialist vehicles and Cre8’s knowledge and facilities for installing specialist electrical, electronic and mechanical systems appropriate to UK customers for operations world-wide.

The JV will be based at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, in the heart of the Midlands, where it has access to facilities to validate vehicles before delivery.  These include mechanical and electrical workshops, EMC chambers, external RF communications test areas, high-speed test tracks and an off-highway course.  There are even paint bays and repair shops for vehicles and components.

PSV’s vehicle armouring expertise, combined with Cre8’s proven skills in vehicle system integration, will encompass vehicles for the UK MoD and other military bodies together with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Police, emergency services and non-government organisations such as security services.  PSV follows proven CAD design principles backed by independent ballistic testing to ensure optimum VR performance.  Vehicles can then be adapted to suit the customers’ precise needs and requirements ranging from a simple radio fit to full IED (improvised explosive device) counter measures.

The joint-venture is hoping to attend the DVD 2010 event at Millbrook (June 23/24) and will be displaying two vehicles for review, drive and evaluation at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground over a number of days earlier the same month.  The vehicles, scheduled to be a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (VR7, BRV 1999) and Land Cruiser 76 (VR6, BRV 1999, STANAG 4569 Level II), will be available for in-depth evaluation by potential users with hospitality from PSV and Cre8, who will also throw open the doors of their facilities and operations for evaluation.
