Royal Oak entrepreneur launches Brit Chic fashion line with May 26 benefit fashion show at Clawson’s Black Lotus Brewery. Free event includes runway show of locally produced apparel and handmade messenger bags designed by British ex-pat Jan Thompson

Royal Oak, Mich./May 11, 2010 – British transplant Jan Thompson, a metropolitan Detroit fashion designer, will formally introduce her Brit Chic Designs line of apparel and accessories with a May 26 benefit fashion show at the Black Lotus Brewery in Clawson, Mich., from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Royal Oak resident founded the company to celebrate her British heritage and to help grow and diversify the economy in her adopted home state.
“I’ve lived on three continents and traveled the world, and I’m fascinated by differences between cultures, especially in fashion and design.  It’s helped me develop an eye for fun, stylish clothing and accessories, and it prompted me to start this brand,” Thompson says.
