Teen Lifeline, North Hills Hospital Present Columbine Redemption

May 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Teen Lifeline, a youth support organization in Northeast Tarrant County, and North Hills Hospital are pleased to present Columbine Redemption, a riveting faith-based presentation about the life and death of 17-year-old Rachel Scott of Littleton, Colorado. Although Rachel was one of the first teens killed in the Columbine High School shootings more than a decade ago, her life speaks volumes to generations of teenagers dealing with hurt, abuse, bullying and isolation. You and your teenagers won’t want to miss hearing this powerful message as presented by Rachel’s older sister, Dana.

Rachel’s acts of kindness and compassion coupled with the content of her six diaries have become the foundation for the most life-changing program in America, Columbine Redemption. Powerful audio/video footage holds the crowd spell-bound during a one-hour presentation that motivates teens and adults to positive change.

Also co-sponsored by the Birdville Independent School District’s counseling staff, this free, public event will be held beginning at 7 p.m. in the Richland High School auditorium, 5201 Holiday Lane. Columbine Redemption has proven to educate and motivate those who hear the presentation, and routinely facilitates healthy discussion among teens, parents, and teachers.

Rachel’s family members have spoken to over 10 million people in live settings, reaching millions more through feature spots on popular media outlets like CNN, Fox News, The Today Show, Oprah and Good Morning America. The family’s partner program for schools, Rachel’s Challenge, has been implemented in public and private campuses across the nation, teaching a message of kindness and compassion in the treatment of others.

Teen Lifeline serves adolescents and teenagers in Northeast Tarrant County through peer counseling groups currently being held in several area school districts, and through a very successful Teen Parent program for teenagers with children. The non-profit organization meets students where they are, providing the resources they need to lead fulfilled lives. The organization’s vision is to influence students to become change agents in their culture.

This presentation is appropriate for parents, teens, youth workers, teachers, coaches, counselors and anyone who works with or cares for hurting teens.
