May 10, 2010 - PRLog -- If you see Iron Man 2 this month, you will see the work of political advisor R. Todd Bouldin (http://www.toddbouldin.com). Hired by Director Jon Favreau and A.D. Eric Heffron, Bouldin worked as “Senate Hearing Advisor” for the Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment film. Bouldin acted as a technical advisor to ensure accuracy on numerous elements; he reviewed and edited the script to reflect authentic congressional verbiage, advised on background casting, was on-set guiding the actors, kept key players advised about creative and strategic choices or changes made, and of course, consulted on the accuracy of the overall scene including props and general movement. Comfortable in and around the set, Bouldin was also asked by Heffron to serve as a “Senate Aide” and appeared on camera as a featured extra in that role.

Bouldin has created a unique niche marrying his law degree and extensive political and government experience with film and television production.  The distinct ability to comfortably translate his wide range of knowledge from the classroom, courtroom or Capitol Hill to the set, both behind the scenes or on-camera, renders him an expert like no other available.    "It was a distinct honor to work with some of Hollywood's greatest actors and directors on Iron Man 2," says Bouldin. "It was a culmination of life experiences and career opportunities, in politics and at Pepperdine, that led me to this moment, and I am very grateful."

Bouldin is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University and Managing Partner of Renaissance Communications Group, a political consulting and communications group with operations in Nashville and Los Angeles.

At Pepperdine, Bouldin teaches government relations for executives at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, was previously Assistant to the Provost for Entertainment and Media Initiatives, and a five year Visiting Professor of Political Science at the Malibu campus. Bouldin also served as the co-creator of the University’s Master of Fine Arts in Screen and Television Writing program.  In Washington, D.C. he also teaches courses in Management and Policy at The National Policy Experience.

Bouldin worked for Al Gore as an intern at the Clinton White House in 1993, and then again as a transition team member with Counsel to the (Former) VP in 2001. He also served as Legislative Director in the D.C. office of U.S. Representative Bob Clement and was Deputy Campaign Manager for U.S. Representative Jim Cooper, who currently represents Nashville.

Currently, Bouldin is serving on the production team for three film projects, including a documentary on Congress. He splits his time between Nashville and Los Angeles.
