May 6, 2010 - PRLog -- A thrill seeker from Mile End, Stockport, raised £300 for a local charity and found a new volunteer in the process when he took to the skies for a sponsored skydive.

Matt Brown raised the money for Greater Manchester cancer charity CALL, which offers emotional and practical support for people affected by cancer.

Matt says: “I’d always fancied skydiving so when some friends said they were going to do it for another charity and said I could join in, I jumped at the chance. My wife’s auntie Carol works for CALL so I know about the work they do and how it benefits local people, so I thought it would be a good idea to support them.

“Later on we were having some photos of our children done and I showed the photographer the pictures of me skydiving and explained what CALL does. They were really interested and said they’d like to volunteer – so I’m really happy to have helped spread the word a bit.”

The money raised by Mike will support CALL’s activities in Greater Manchester, such as organising trips for people affected by cancer, supporting volunteers who visit clients offering emotional and practical support, and running a telephone Listening Line.
