May 6, 2010 - PRLog -- The basic objective of motivation is to drive work performance and the best strategy is to give the team what they really want. When a manager of a team leader understands and fulfills the desires of the team members only then managers can expect the best output in return.

There are basically two types of team motivation, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Both these types are effectively tapping into the global business world.

Intrinsic motivation is the kind of motivation that is present within the employee. The inner drive and the inner enthusiasm to do some thing productive and make significant contributions to the organization clearly define the intrinsic type.

There are many ways by which a manager can ignite intrinsic motivation. The best way is to create a purpose for employees. Make them understand that they are doing some significant project. Then, through different ways and methodologies a manager can make the team believe in the business of the company. apart from this, the most mportant thing is to assign jobs to all employees depending on their individual interests or passion. If any employee is given a work that he or she is least interested in then the output will definitely be negligible.

Extrinsic employee motivation is the kind of motivation that comes from materialistic things or external factors like incentives, cash prizes, and monetary benefits. Extrinsic type can be offered through customized rewards like food coupons and gift voucher.  Monetary incentives and prices are also significant to offer extrinsic motivation but it’s not everything. There are better ways like recognition, appreciation, certificates, and promotion. Managers can also create space and opportunities for the team members to grow and expand their potential. Wider opportunities will give them better chances to earn more, work better, and grow faster.

Both these types of team motivation are important for nay kind of business as it helps create a safe and secure work environment, whilst offering exponential growth. It drives the level of enthusiasm and commitment for workers to accomplish their task successfully and timely.
