May 5, 2010 - PRLog -- LONDON, UK – NCR Corporation  today announced that it is launching the NCR Netkey Kiosk and Digital Signage Solution in Europe, the first single software platform that enables retailers to create, run and monitor multimedia content on both in-store digital advertising and self-service kiosk networks, at Screen Media Expo Europe in London on May 5-6 on stand #E8.

The NCR Netkey digital signage and kiosk management platform helps retailers roll out integrated marketing and sales campaigns quickly across multiple channels in a consistent and controlled way. For example, retailers could opt to use digital advertising to promote exciting new offers in-store and make it easy for shoppers to find out more and even pay for their purchases at self-service kiosks.

The NCR Netkey solution is used by over 400 organisations, running more than 70,000 digital signs and kiosks, which are viewed by over a million consumers a day in North America. NCR anticipates similar demand in Europe where consumers increasingly want to be able to move seamlessly between online and bricks and mortar stores. By 2011, Deloitte predicts half of in-store purchases will be influenced by the internet.

“Through NCR’s kiosk and digital signage software, retailers can deliver a converged online and in-store shopping experience,” said Dusty Lutz, general manager of NCR Netkey, NCR. “It provides a fast and flexible means of deploying multiple signage and self-service applications in-store to help improve consumers’ point-of-purchase decision making, delivering a seamless shopping experience across many channels, such as the Internet, kiosks or digital signs.”

NCR Netkey kiosk applications include Endless Aisle, which helps retailers integrate their e-commerce and bricks-and-mortar operations by providing a means for consumers to view a retailer’s extended inventory on a kiosk in the store, as well as Gift Registry, which provides consumers with a convenient, self-service means of creating and purchasing from wish lists. Additionally, NCR’s Loyalty Account Management application helps shoppers view and print relevant discount coupons.

NCR Netkey is available on a licensed or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription basis and runs on hardware from multiple vendors. NCR also offers a full range of digital signage and kiosk implementation, support and consulting services to enable organisations plan, develop and implement multi-channel solutions to connect with consumers in a more convenient and compelling way, helping to improve the shopping experience.

ABI Research predicts companies will spend over $1 billion globally on digital signage solutions in 2010, growing at an average of 20 per cent per year for the next five years, while kiosk deployments will grow an average of 19 per cent per year over the same period.
