Vedanta Aluminium organizes free health camp for tribals at Phuldumer in Orissa

More than 72 tribals were benefited from a free health check-up camp organised at Phuldumer village on April 29, 2010 by Vedanta Aluminium Limited, in collaboration with Government health Department.

May 3, 2010 - PRLog -- More than 72 tribals were benefited from a free health check-up camp organised at Phuldumer village on April 29, 2010 by Vedanta Aluminium Limited, in collaboration with Government health Department. Patients with different ailments were treated by doctors of Vedanta Aluminium and Government hospital, Lanjigarh. Prescribed Medicine was provided free of cost after health check-up.

People from nearby villages such as Phuldumer, Khemdipadar, Tadijhola, Palberi, Kunakadu, Trilochanpur, Tidingbhata attended the camp. For more participation, the CSR team of the company had informed people earlier about time and venue of the camp.

Dr. Nagendra Raj Samant, Medical Officer, Lanjigarh Hospital and Dr. Akshaya Sahoo, Sr. Medical Officer, VAL managed the Camp. In addition to health check up, special effort was made to improve awareness about health and hygiene among the tribal.

Through medical outreach program Vedanta Aluminium has been providing health services to people in remote tribal areas, who are deprived of healthcare. Through mobile medical units and outreach camps the company is reaching the unreached and providing health services at door step of tribal people, informed Mr. Prashanta Kumar Hota, Head of CSR, VAL. At present the company covers 112 villages under its outreach health program.
