Emma Narcarrow-Abbas and Vanessa Roy launched Trade Your Charms in November 2009, when they discovered many people were looking for a way to sell their once loved authentic charms outside of busy trading sites where fakes and counterfeits abound.

“There are plenty of trading sites that sell everything from cars to beds to clocks but not one that deals specifically with designer label charms,” Ms Roy said. “Items like these get lost on those sites.”

Charms have been worn for centuries, to avert bad luck and bring good, but the recent trend of collecting brand name charms like Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Trollbeads and Chamilia has flourished.

“It’s become a must have item for savvy fashionistas everywhere,” Ms Nancarrow-Abbas said.

“It’s like a second coming. Charms and charm bracelets are huge in Europe and Australia is now catching up. Australia has become such a strong market for these new designer charm bracelets that Pandora and Thomas Sabo have opened flagship stores in some Australian cities.

“Trade Your Charms is only interested in showcasing authentic designer label charms and jewellery. It’s a specific listing site to sell pre loved authentic designer charms and jewellery safely online,” she said.

Ms Roy explained that as authentic charms are individually crafted and of high quality, they are not easily damaged and don’t lose their value. “Even when a charm is pre loved it’s still very beautiful because of the quality craftsmanship. When kept in good condition Pandora charms have been selling for up to 80% of the original purchase price.”  she said.

The user friendly, online site has been a huge success with over 2000 hits in the first month.  Within 24 hours of loading Trade Your Charms was ranked #1 in the top ten Google search for Pre loved Pandora Charms.
