April 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Club, Diamond, Spade and Heart
The Penfold Dual iD displays the company’s trademark card marking of a Club, Diamond, Spade or Heart on the golf ball. This card mark identification, synonymous with the Penfold brand, was popularised when James Bond played a Penfold Heart™ to win his golf match in the 1964 Bond Movie “Goldfinger”.

Re-introducing the Penfold Heart™ in 2008 to acclaim from golfers worldwide (after a 25-year absence) has prompted Birmingham-based Penfold Golf to bring back its iconic hand-wrapped golf balls.

Green to Green - Biodegradable wrapping
Each Dual iD ball comes individually hand-wrapped in film, using a similar method last used by Penfold in the 1960s.

Today, the UK-made film wrapper is produced from compostable and biodegradable materials, keeping the Dual iD eco-friendly both on and off the green. Hand-wrapping each golf ball, at Penfold Golf’s Birmingham base, significantly reduces the need to add extra packaging to the 12-ball packs of Dual iDs.

Exceptional speed/Increased control.
Using the latest technology, the 4-layer Dual Core construction delivers exceptional speed - giving greater distance and reduced spin off the tee and increased control and spin into and around the greens. The Penfold Dual iD gives Tour performance, control and feel.

British since 1927
Started by AE Penfold in Birmingham in 1927, Penfold Golf became world famous for its one and two-piece golf balls. In the 1960s, many of the greatest professional and amateur golfers all played Penfold. Still an independent British company, Penfold is aiming once more to enter the serious players’ market with the Dual iD golf ball.

“Mr Penfold was famous for his innovative golf ball designs, markings and packaging,” explains William Baird, chief executive of Penfold Golf, who has been involved in the manufacture of golf balls for some 30 years. “Today, we are continuing that philosophy by bringing back our famous, individually-wrapped golf ball.

“Golfers will love the unique feel of un-wrapping a brand new golf ball on the first tee and knowing that our ‘Green to Green’ policy enables the wrapping to be disposed of in a responsible manner. The four layer ball allows golfers of all standards to achieve maximum distance off the tee, with control on and around the greens.”

Availability
The new Penfold Dual iD is exclusively available from the Penfold Golf website; there are no plans to retail Penfold golf balls in the high street. To view the website please visit: www.penfoldgolf.com
