April 20, 2010 - PRLog -- At the age of 6 months, music was already flowing through out the soul of Alpha Diop (ADH). Influenced by his mother (Aissataou Diop) who is a dance artist and his father (Vieux Diop) who played the drums, you can understand why music was a natural feeling for ADH. Vieux is a master of the kora which is an indigenious instrument of West Africa. Since emigrating to the U.S. in 1984, Diop has lectured and performed at colleges and universities through out the country. Vieux has released many albums in the U.S., starting with his self-titled 1995 debut. ADH began as a drummer and has drummed in several dance companies in which he has perfromed all over the country. Most notably he has performed 3 times at the Brooklyn Academy of Music for Dance Africa 2006, 2008, and 2009. ADH has played for classes as well as local drum workshops so that he can spread his African Culture. He plays 3 different types of orchestras in African drumming. ADH also went to school for music in Brooklyn where he learned the trap drums at the age of 10. ADH also got accepted to the Brooklyn High School of Perfoming Arts due to his exceptional talent.

ADH started rapping in 2004 and eventually in 2006, Alpha began taking being a hip hop artist serious. During this period he was being mentored by his cousin, who is also an artist/engineer, Kevin "SK" Hanson and by the CEO of Selectfew Entertainment, Victor Emerson. Emerson saw the talent that ADH possessed and from that moment knew he wanted Alpha as apart of Selectfew Entertainment. ADH then began working on tracks to raise the level of his talent and also began doing show cases at various venues. During this period ADH dropped his first Mixtape entitled, "Tri-State Dilemna". The concept of the mixtape was to show his interactions throughout the Tri-State Area and how him, being from Brooklyn New York was adjusting to life in New Jersey. The Mixtape was made up of 20 tracks and was released though Selectfew Entertainment. The response from his first mixtape was phenomenal locally and ADH decided he would take a 4 month break from music.
     
When Alpha returned to the hip hop scene, he began working on his second Mixtape entitled, "Stay In Good Company". The Mixtape featured various artists throughout New Jersey. It featured 106 and Park Freestyle Champion Kay M, Kevin "SK" Hanson, Ant Stone, Killah Ky, and Victor Emerson himself. The goal on this MIxtape was to get together all of the talent in New Jersey and show that New Jersey can be a strong force in the "Rap Game". He also saw it as a way to spread a message that had important meaning to him; to stay in good company and always keep your circle closed circuit. With the release of this Mixtape ADH saw a great response that he couldnt have even imagined himself. At that moment he realized that he had what the people wanted and that God had blessed him with the talent to do so.
   
As for whats ahead for Alpha "ADH" Diop, his is now working on his third Mixtape entitled, "I.M. (Introducing Me) and an Album which is currently untitled. Both are going to be filled with talent and entertaining tracks that you want to be sure to get. ADH is aways busy performing at various locations, working on tracks, as well as shooting music videos. ADH has some upcoming performances that you want to be sure to attend.
