Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Celebrates Earth Day, Shares Green Facts

April 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Downtown celebrates Earth Day by sharing green initiatives with guest and the community. The hotel launched a recycling program in June to help contribute to the city’s efforts to make our city a cleaner and greener place to live, work and visit.

Thus far the hotel has recycled:
   1,169 lbs. of  fluorescent tubes
   107 lbs. of various batteries
   16-20 yards per month of cardboard totaling 416 yards
   119.03 tons of bulk trash down from 211 tons in 2008

The hotel also reduced its waste removal costs by 56% by installing a garbage disposal and also by recycling cardboard, paper, cans and bottles.

In honor of Earth Day Crowne Plaza is giving each hotel guest seed packets on Thursday, April 22nd. Plus, order In-Room Dining all week and receive a potted tree sampling on your tray. Guests may take the tree and plant it on their own or can opt to have the hotel plan it in their honor.
