Hundreds of children visit Toronto Dentist in last 1.5 years for child dental program!

April 19, 2010 - PRLog -- For almost 2 years, a Toronto Dentist,  Dr.Nathan Haas and his team at Stonebrook Dental have been running a free young child dental program for city of Toronto residents.

The intial idea took off in 2008 when Dr. Nathan Haas had two young children of his own and  needed to introduce his own children to the dental environment. "Even though I work in a dental office everyday as a dentist, I can still remember my dentist and dentistry when I was young, it was, to put it kindly, 'interesting'. I didn't want dentistry to be like that for my children or any other children I see in my Toronto dental practice. After some brainstorming with the team we came up with the Toddler and Child Day at the Dentist Program. The goal ultimately was to make the first visit to the dentist a positive and fun one, thus paving the way for a lifetime of oral health (and a positive association with going to the dentist and dental hygienist).

From day one in 2008 the free dental program has taken off, children and their parents from all over the greater Toronto area have attended the Saturday program in the Bathurst/Sheppard Ave area of North York. "We have had a few people attend from as far away as Brampton and Aurora, which goes to show you how wonderful our program really has become and word of mouth is travelling!" The dental practice itself is not a pediatric one in nature, but a full family dental practice with the belief that all dental needs can be met under one roof; cosmetic, laser, family and implant dentistry.



Dr.Nathan Haas' dental practice is an established family dental office in North York which has recently moved to it's new location on Bathurst across from Earl Bales Park in the Bathurst Medical Centre (4256 Bathurst Street, Suite 405). He sees family members of all ages from infanthood onwards. Many families find it convenient that they are able to all attend at the same time for their dental appointments thus saving precious time on travelling to separate dental offices.

The next Child Day at the Dentist is this Sat. April 24, 2010 from 9am-3pm, followed by Sat. June 19, 2010 from 9am-2pm. Spaces book up very quickly. As well, adults may book into the new  Oral Cancer Screening Program on Sat. May 29 from 9am-2pm sponsored by Zila.
