Non-profits To Host Unemployment Crisis Panel Discussion

Panelists will address the impact unemployment is having on individuals and families in Miami-Dade County, the economic safety net and effect of federal stimulus monies

April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade and the Miami Coalition for the Homeless jointly present the following panel addressing the issue of Miami-Dade's Unemployment Panel:

PANELISTS:   
Dr. Dario Moreno, Director, FIU’s Metropolitan Center will address the extent of the unemployment problem in Miami-Dade County

Jacqui Colyer, Director, Southern Region, Florida Dept. of Children & Families will speak on the effect of unemployment on children & families

Cheri Kavahersi of South Florida Workforce will discuss their “Putting Florida Back to Work” program

Emily Eisenhauer of FIU’s Center for Labor Research, will talk about the jobs
created by the federal stimulus bill

Valory Greenfield, Esq. of Florida Legal Services will address the economic safety net programs for individuals and families
