April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- As a helicopter circled overhead and dozens of police cars swarmed through the streets of Tinley Park on the heels of a brazen home invasion early Wednesday, residents said their quiet southwest suburb seemed like a movie set.

The massive police response came after six men burst through the front door of Abbas Darwish's home in the 9100 block of Basswood Drive about 4 a.m. as he slept on the couch with the television on.

They apparently thought Darwish, 58, who has owned DIA Food & Liquor in Morgan Park for about 18 years, kept cash from his business in the 4,000-square-foot home where he lived with his wife and two of his six children. Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki said Darwish had been targeted and that the suspects might have followed him home from his business.
