OMS and Giugiaro Architettura join forces
Both parties refer to their cooperation as strategic: One receives recognized “brand” design, the other new markets
Studio Giugiaro Architettura - widely known for interior design and urban planning - aims to strengthen its positions in lighting fixtures design through cooperation with OMS. “Along with OMS, we share the same business philosophy. A strong innovative approach and constantly seeking to achieve new goals,” explains the CEO of Giugiaro Architettura, Aldo Cingolani. Cingolani adds that he considers the partnership with OMS as strategic and long-lasting.
“This means a shift toward a completely new level for our design,” explains Vladimír Levársky, CEO of OMS. According to him, this also brings benefits to OMS’s young designers; their cooperation with top Italian designers can earn them enormous experience. Cooperation between OMS and Giugiaro Architettura is therefore not only the joint development of new luminaries. The Italian design house is also involved in designing the interior and exterior of the new Research & Development Center that OMS will open this autumn.
Giugiaro Architettura was established in 1995 when the studio was created as part of the world famous company Italdesign Giugiaro Group, which is one of the main players in the field of industrial design. Known for his work for automotive leaders, Giugiaro Group designed products also for companies such as Apple and Nikon. Giugiaro Architettura has been operating as an independent company since 2003. The studio’s main focus is urban planning, interior and furniture design but has also designed yachts.
OMS is the largest luminaire producer in Central and Eastern Europe, with a 15-year market presence. The company focuses on the design and production of interior and exterior lighting (office and industrial light fixtures, as well as comprehensive public and sport stadium lighting solutions). With 620 employees, OMS is one of the largest regional employers. This year’s company investment into research and development, innovations and new technologies are planned to amount to seven million Euros.
