Citigroup Inc.  is surging on volume today.  Shares of C are trading in the range of 4.70 to 4.89 on strong volume, up 5.41% at 4.87.  A few announcements coming out of the company, Citigroup advises that it has hired a new head of Citicorp Consumer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  Marc Luet will be in charge of expanding Citi’s presence in the emerging markets.   Citi also announced that Federated Investors, Inc. expanded their contract to use Citi’s platform of OpenSMAsm and CitiConnect, which serves SMA Investment managers.  This expansion will now include Citi supporting Clover Investment Advisors, which are a Federated subsidiary.  Citi and Federated have been working together since 2006.  Citi provides financial services carrying more then 200 million customer accounts and doing business in more than 140 countries.

Blugrass Energy Inc.  has really picked up in trading over the last few days.  Blugrass Energy is an oil and gas company dealing with exploration and production of oil and gas properties in North America.  Shares of BLUG are trading in the range of 0.31 to 0.36 up 8.20% at 0.33 on heavy volume.  The last company announcement confirms that they have acquired data for its initial two Canyon Sands locations and Petro Grande has selected over 75 locations on lands located on the Canyon Wells and believes it is economic to start  drilling.  Mr. Berscht, President of BLUG commented stated that having this data is beneficial in increasing the chances for success with drilling and the company is looking forward to start the drilling process.  Other major players in the area, include Chevron, Occidental Petroleum, Anadarko Petroleum and Chesapeake.  

Antigenics Inc. , released its financial results for the quarter and year ending December 2009.  Antigenics reported a net income of $1.7 million for Q4 of 2009, compared to a net income of $3.9 million in Q4 of 2008.  As for the year end of 2009 Antigenics reported a net loss of $31.1 million compared to a loss of $31.6 million for the year end in December 2008.  The company reports that it is continuing in its Phase 2 clinical trials in glioma patients and is also continuing to make efforts to maintain costs and expects that its net cash burn in 2010 will be in the range of $16-$18 million.  The cash burn consists of operating activities, including capital expenditures and payments arising from dividends.  Antigenics is a biotechnology company focused on cancer and infectious disease treatment.
