Smart-AVI, Inc. Expands Its Matrix Solution DVI Router Family with the DVI Router 16X16

April 13, 2010 - PRLog -- BURBANK, CA (April 13, 2010) – Smart-AVI, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the fields of digital signage content creation, management and delivery solutions through hardware and software, announces the release of a new switching matrix, the DVI Router 16X16, that is capable of switching output from 16 computers to 16 displays up to 30 feet away. The unit can be controlled remotely via RS-232, Infrared, USB, and over the Internet via TCP-IP. It also offers simple management of several different types of displays using advanced EDID detection.

Smart-AVI’s DVI Router 16X16 is a dynamic DVI-D switching matrix that can receive signals from up to 30 feet away and independently route them to displays up to 30 feet away. It is capable of routing high-resolution video up to 1920 x 1200.  It can be controlled remotely in several ways: RS-232, using a local computer running SmartAVI’s SmartControl Software; IR, using a hand-held remote control; USB, using a local computer with no RS-232 support; and TCP-IP, using a computer anywhere in the world via the Internet.  This allows an administrator to see what is being shown on the remote displays without having to leave an office or control room.

The unit also has built-in EDID capability that simplifies the management of several different types of displays. EDID allows individual displays to have their own management profile, ensuring that video is displayed at the optimal resolution.
