One of the main symptoms are negative thoughts, when you're about to join social situation or talk in front of group you have probably had many negative thoughts like "I'm sure I'm going to make an idiot of myself", actually one very good treatment is to analyze those thoughts - Think why are you afraid that you're going to embarass yourself, how do you know for sure and so on. This is one of the best social phobia treatments, people who go to therapies use this method as well.

These are just some treatment options, there are plenty of more. If you have chosen to cure social phobia on your own, you have to be patient and not give up, sometimes you may get rejections which can easily make you give up, but remember not to give up, everybody gets rejections sometimes. Many people are coffee drinkers, truth is that caffeine can increase symptoms. Sufferers often drink alcohol in social situations because it makes them feel less nervous, but actually drinking too much alcohol can cause you social phobia attacks later after drinking. Another thing that can help you is to quit smoking and really easy and important is to get a good sleep. By making these changes you wont overcome your problem, but these changes will make it easier.
